Thursday the 21st of May 2009: I sit in front of the telly, watching Question Time: Special Smackdown Edition, listening to the panellists and public exchanging verbal volleys over our broken political process...

...and I keep hearing this gem of a phrase get bandied about:

"The government has lost its moral authority."

And I think to myself: Excuse my parliamentary paragons, but would you mind, ever so kindly, shutting the fuck up?

The day I look at, much less, dote on, any political figure as a moral authority will be the day Nick Griffin partakes in an interracial, queer Muslim gangbang!

Politicians, far from being the vanguard of virtue, are simply the logs floating at the top of the toilet bowl: putrid, bloated and more than a little nasally-obnoxious. With a nerve that would be admirable outside of the context of government, these mendacious motherfuckers assert at the right to take more than a bit off your paycheck, making a point of shaming and skewering tax evaders in the name of the "public interest"...the "common good"...

... I should've said the Commons' Good : mea fucking culpa!

Visualise a rapist expressing moral outrage upon signs of a fightback in his quarry: it differs only in degree.

But hey, if you want to endorse warmongering, liberty-encroaching, expense-claiming parasites, knock yourself out!

Go ahead: elect your would-be Messiah into the position of

Voice of the Voiceless!

Heh.

The way I see it, unless you're the spokesperson for some kinda Deaf-Mute Association (and even that's a maybe), you have no business uttering that abominable phrase!

Seriously, are most people so cognitively-broken that they think such a grandiose statement carries any semblance of weight?

Why did I ask the question long after the masses gave me the answer?

The trouble with being the "voiceless" in any equation: you leave yourself blank-white for your Messiah to ascribe his agenda onto you. It's a lot like infatuation in that respect, only it's the idealised one who suffers: the voters, for their voiceless wishing, get to play out the analogy straight. Double the pain for a fraction of the effort.

Think of Islamic extremists; visualise racial ambulance-chasers and supremacists.

Oh... and remember these earlier episodes?

Do you really want to be spoken for?

Can you not tell me, us, them, what you want without some glorified suit 'n' tie doing it for you? Ballot boxes don't count and never did. Democracy is a disease for the exact same reasons.

To paraphrase a wise woman: be proud, be loud, not herd!

Lest, to paraphrase another of similar sentiment, I'll have fun seeing how "voiceless" you prove just before a boot slams down on your faceless humanity - forever!

Reading a number of interviews with Jim Goad got me thinking about something...

I often see women rally together for the express purpose of stamping out domestic violence against themselves - solidarity in sisterhood, and all that...

But I also see women rally together for the express purpose of defending domestic violence - directed at their kids.

Do I stand alone in cocking an eyebrow, Roger Moore-style, to the overlap in these tendencies?

Sure, I've seen and heard blokes defend the latter stance; however, their vehemence never seems to match that of their female counterparts, generally speaking.

Want a fitting analogy for the peculiar phenomenon, taken to the nth degree? How about a Middle Eastern dictator sobbing over American imperialism whilst flinging his citizenry through meat grinders; or perhaps hardcore Zionists who fled oppression on one continent, only to re-enact it on another; or maybe the blubberings of White Supremacist untermenschen, those oh-so virtuous victims of "the ZOG machine", who get priapic at the prospect of the Day of the Rope; or perhaps some of my fellow melaniners across the pond, who disregarded the political restrictions heaped on them in the past when imposing them, via ballot, on their queer co-citizens?

Take your pick. The pattern remains the same.

Entitled members of the sisterhood, a well as their White Knight enablers, would tell me how naughty it is to hit women - in any context - on account of them being delicate wilting lilies, naked in the breeze...

Well, what the fuck are kids made of - granite?

One thing I respect about wife-beating, corporal punishment enthusiasts: at least they're fucking consistent!

You do not require much external approval and do not mind if others see you as successful or not.You wouldn't mind being famous and somewhat enjoy the attention of others. You are not generally very attention seeking. You are not interested in making the world a better place and would rather focus on other goals. You don't really like positions of authority and will avoid them as much as possible.

Love and good relationships are very important factors for you. What is life without love? You cherish the relationships of those around you and have a lot of love to give. You are not really interested in socialising and do not really have an overly strong social group. You dislike it if friends who are not overly close take up too much of your time. It is important to you that you acheive a moderate level of financial success in live and you do not wish to be poor. But as long as you have enough money to get by then you are not motivated to acheive great riches. You absolutely love your work and throw yourself into it with a passion. You are most likely to be a very creative person and you really enjoy the process of making something (whether it be physical or artistic).

My response to this piece of sloppy journalism:

Never mind your "two outraged and provoked patriotic Brits" got their stupid selves arrested for *violence*.

What I get from your article:

1)Violence, whether perpetrated by individuals or the state, is a thoroughly appropriate response to dissenting views.

2)Freedom of speech - unless you're a Muslim.

3)Violence on Brit citizens would be an atrocity - unless said citizens are Muslims exercising their free speech rights.

4)Any viewpoint - as long as it's pro-State and pro-military.

Perhaps it is you who should self-deport to a "backwards-thinking" nation, as you clearly have more in common with your hated Jihadists than you realize.

What luck for rulers, that men do not think.
- Adolf Hitler

Islam really did dominate the news this week, didn't it?

It started with the British government barring Dutch Politico Geert Wilders from entering the country to screen his anti-Islam movie Fitna:

I saluted Wilders' audacity when I first heard about this: he doggedly expressed his determination to make the trip, even if it ended with him being booted back to the Netherlands - all in the name of his freedom of speech...

...but then, I encountered his views on the Koran:

"I want to ban the Koran. In the Netherlands we have banned Mein Kampf. I see a comparison between the two books. Not only are both books of totalitarian ideology but they both also incite violence."

Gee - such a bastion of free speech, ladies and gentlemen!

Then again, perhaps my surprise betrays a momentary flash of naivete: trust a politician to rape Lady Liberty whilst professing to protect her.

Why exactly does he get to leaf through the recited word to mine quotes for his home movie, yet his fellow Nederlanders don't get the same courtesy?

The scalpel of research exposes this "freedom" advocate's feet of clay all-the-more: he may not be fond of importing Middle Eastern religion, but he seemed a-ok with importing Middle Eastern (in this case,Israeli) administrative detention to his free and pleasant land! I can see why the guy would favour banning Mein Kampf: the illusionist has to conceal the tricks of his trade, after all...

But all this constitutes digression. As much as I may despise this democratically-elected worm, I can't help but roll my eyes at the moral panic surrounding Fitna. You had the expected response from the Muslim "leaders" and the obligatory moral outrage statements from the White Guilt Home Office (who, as Wilders pointed out, had no problem letting in anti-Semites like Yusuf al-Qaradawi ). Watching QuestionTime on Thursday night, I scoffed at the Goodguy Badge-touting members of the panel and audience decrying Wilders as a "hatred-inciter" and a "racist"; ironically, the one intelligent view came from Respect leader Salma Yaqoob, who, like a veiled Voltaire, disagreed with Wilders' views on her religion whilst vehemently defending his liberty to express them on these shores -- a move that put the object of her defence to shame, however unwittingly!

So what do I see when viewing the Wilders film? Nothing I haven't seen in the pages of a Sam Harris polemic, albeit shorter, snappier and more sensationalist. It strikes me as no worse, in intent and presentation, than the "New Atheists" laying the smackdown on fundamentalist Christianity; the target seems to be Islam and the true believer contingent rather than the wider Muslim populace, many of whom co-exist quite peaceably with the rest of us. As for racism? The closest thing approaching racism evidenced was the "God Bless Hitler" placard held by one of the fanatics in the film; shame the White Guilt Police and useful(?) dunderheads never bothered to watch it -- they'd have also seen another of their pet victims, homosexuals, on the receiving end of the militant Mohammedians they unwittingly play apologist for.

All that said, I suspect the Netherlands have more to fear from their professed protector then they do from the Muslims in their midst; even if his concerns about Muslim fundies carry validity, Geert Wilders' strikes me as nothing more than a mendacious little louse who would use the threat of Islamo-fascism to wriggle in his own secular variant.

I echo the sentiment voiced by Dutch Muslim rapper Appa, who says: "If someone were to put a bullet in his head, I wouldn't mind"...

Meanwhile, back in the UK, Domino's Pizza seem determined to alienate their non-Islamic clientèle, turning one of their branches into a Halal-only venue.

You couldn't make this shit up, nakama!

They couldn't just throw a few halal pizzas on the menu- nooooo!

Instead they've taken any semblance of swine (non-halal meat) off the platter.

I suppose it's one way to cut corners -- and earn a few Pander Pounds in the bargain!

Did I hear Miss Liberty, Shami Chakrabati, vehemently support "hate speech" legislation?

Runs counter to her general stance on free speech, does it not?

Especially as her "Paki shop" example shows her as more than capable of wielding free speech against those who'd use it in a derogatory fashion.

Still, I like the smackdown she laid on Geoff Hoon for his pusillanimity regarding the investigation of American government torture; I like the Dagger-eyes of Rage she dealt the camera along with that smackdown: it's as if she wanted to leap across the panel and make said smackdown a physical affair.

Can a person arouse extreme disappointment and extreme admiration - at once?

Fucking idiots!

It also disgusts me that they used their little honey-trap ploy against Stagg to groom him to fit their preconceptions.

All that said, the poor bloke really didn't help himself, allowing his macabre curiosity to get the best of him - understandable, yet ill-advised.

(A side question: Do Wiccans revere Baphomet? I thought he fell under Satanic symbiology!)
